Hey guys! So, I love photography! I don't plan on becoming a professional photographer or anything like that. It's just one of my favorite hobbies. So, I thought that I would start a blog of just posting photographs and describing what I see in them.

It's Christmas time. Remember the real reason for the season:
"For unto you is born this day in the city of David, a Savior, who is Christ the Lord."
Read Luke 2 :)

Reflecting the Son

This is a picture of the "Blue Moon" that I took on August 31, 2012. I love the moon. It's such a beautiful source of light. However, the moon does not generate it's own light. Instead, it reflects the light of the sun. This reminds me of Chris August's song "Starry Night." My favorite lyrics from the song are:

"I'm giving my life to the only One Who makes the moon reflect the sun.
Every starry night, that was His design.
I'm giving my life to the only Son, Who was and is and yet to come
and the angels sing, that He is heavenly."

Just as the moon reflects the sun, we need to reflect the Son.

Do people see the light of Christ in our daily lives? This is what we need to be thinking about each and every day.

Little Sparrow

"Are not two sparrows sold for a penny?
And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father.
But even the hairs of your head are all numbered.
Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows."
Matthew 10:29-31

How comforting is this? The Lord, our Father, knows when each sparrow falls.

Not even something that small escapes His knowledge.
If He cares that much for a little sparrow, then how much must He care for us?
Verse 31 says that we are "of more value than many sparrows."
I cannot express how comforting, especially on the anniversary of 9/11, it is to know that God cares for His children and He knows everything that happens to them.

Remember to be praying for the families of the victims of 9/11. They were all heroes.

The Greatest Sacrifice

"You just do what you gotta do to defend your own." - Keith Urban's song For You.
John 15:13 says, "Greater love has no man than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends."
The 11th anniversary of 9-11 is just a few hours away. I pray that we never forget those who were lost that day.
Remember to thank God for the men and women who have dedicated their lives and made the greatest sacrifice to defend our country, our freedom...us.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of our country's service men and women! I pray that God will bless you and your families!
Love, Alyssa

Light

See how the sunlight shines through this flower?
Well, we should be the flower letting the Son's light shine through us.

Serve

Camp Northfield Staff of Summer 2012: We are all a crazy bunch and we are a motley looking group.
But, you know what? God used us in so many ways!!!
Those of you who are reading this post, choose to serve God-your Heavenly Father.

White As Snow

See the Red flowers - The blood of Jesus Christ.
See the White flowers - The children of God.
His blood was spilled so that we could be washed white as snow.
